Phillippa Hickey is a Health Improvement Specialist for the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme at Barking. Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Here, she aims to increase uptake of bowel cancer screening in the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge through raising awareness of bowel cancer screening and reducing health inequalities.
Phillippa graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) degree in Health and Human Sciences from The University of Sheffield in 2018, and then moved on to study an MPH in Global Health at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2019.
Prior to her current role, Phillippa worked for NHS England in North Yorkshire and the Humber in the Screening and Immunisation Team. Here she worked across Section 7a screening and immunisation programmes, working with providers, Local Authorities and CCGs to identify and reduce health inequalities and improve services and patient pathways.
