
Liz Joekes

After training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in the Netherlands, Liz spent three years as Head of the Department of Radiology at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Ghana, before taking up a part-time NHS consultant post in 2007 at the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, specialising in Tropical and Infectious Diseases Radiology.
Alongside her clinical NHS work, Liz is an honorary research fellow at the Liverpool School of Tropical medicine, contributing to teaching and research in TB, HIV, schistosomiasis and point of care ultrasound.
In 2017, Liz co-founded Worldwide Radiology, a UK-based NGO with the mission of increasing access to appropriate imaging services for patients in resource restricted settings
